Self portraits make me happy

Hello all. It's been a while since I've blogged so I thought I should do so. Currently I'm sitting on my front porch watching the rain fall. I think that rain storms in Charleston have to be the best. I mean, can you imagine anything better than watch rain fall on a palm tree? Ok, maybe seeing sun on a palm tree is better but today I'm digging the rain. I was even inspired to pull my camera out and take some pictures, just for the fun of it. I haven't done that in a very long while. Too long. My camera is withering away y'all.

So this got me thinking about all of the "hobbies" I've taken up over the years, and I started wondering why I've left them in the dust. I put hobbies in quotations because some of them were going to be "my next big career!" or "my newest money maker!" Ha. I'm not a self starter like that. At least I have finally learned it. I've done hair, I used to knit, take photos, make friendship bracelets, run, make wreaths, read, etc etc. So I'm thinking about revisiting some of my hobbies. Doing them for a couple weeks and see if I really need to put them to rest or start doing them again. I think I'm going to start with taking photos. Head downtown, or to the beach, or anywhere in Charleston really and try to recapture my love of photos. I've got a couple tumblr blogs I've started to document my photos. Time to brush the dust off of them and reintroduce my photography to the world. Stay tuned folks, this might be a good one!
